CSM Group was selected as construction manager for Jackson Public Schools’ pre-bond work in September 2017 and worked alongside TMP Architecture, Inc. to assist JPS in successfully passing their bond vote in May 2018.
The $86.7 million bond issue included consolidating buildings, constructing a new school, reopening a vacant building, and updating and securing learning spaces.
The first phase of work began in August 2018 with the demolition of Cascades Elementary School. The $14 million facility, located at 1200 S. Wisner Street, is a modern, two-story building spanning 60,000 square feet and featuring 21 classrooms, a gymnasium, a media center, and dedicated spaces for art and music.
The school was designed to serve approximately 500 kindergarten through fifth-grade students and emphasizes a collaborative learning environment with flexible classroom spaces and advanced technology integration.
