    CSM Group utilized laser scanning across a project's lifecycle for a Fortune 100 pharmaceutical company, from design to completion, and for operations, retrofits, and renovations.

    Laser scanning allows us to share data between all key stakeholders to help with remote coordination, as well as to better document milestones, reduce the necessity of change orders, and pass off work to other trade professionals. It also helps document where errors were made to identify a solution faster.

    Projects that Utilized Laser Scanning

    Drug Filling Line

    Designers used the data captured to create plans for the installation of safety screens and routing of required utilities in a clean space. This is a Grade B space that has very strict access, but the laser scanning allows individuals who would typically not have access to the site to be involved in the review of the filling line.

    Stainless Steel Tank/Pump Room

    Gathering data has provided detailed, current conditions of the space to contractors so that they can pre-fabricate piping for a pump replacement, resulting in a quicker installation during the shutdown.

    Drug Processing Facility

    Virtual Construction Verification (VCV) was utilized for a new ground-up drug processing facility to verify the installation of modeled elements and to check the quality of installation.

    Chiller

    A scan of the mechanical space of a chiller was provided to trade contractors as supplemental data during the bid process for better accuracy in numbers.
