Confidential Thermal Oxidizer Site Shutdown
Biotechnology and Pharmaceuticals
CSM Group successfully planned and monitored over 130 tradespeople from 15 companies to execute 18 interdependent projects.
The project was executed during a 22-day TOX system shutdown (including site-wide nitrogen and industrial water), requiring extensive planning and preparation from the team.
Measures such as a temporary TOX system, extensive pre-work, pre-verifications, pre-installations, and a 24/7 work schedule mitigated downtime, allowing site operations to be minimally impacted.
Planning began well before work on the ground to ensure sufficient labor resources were in place to complete the project safely and on time. This included resource graphing and tracking across projects site-wide.
Safety professionals were tracked and assisted with air monitoring, LOTO, safe work permits, and monitoring working conditions throughout the entire process. During this process, an extensive upgrade was made to outdated electrical control systems from a PCL to a DCS to meet the new site standard of Delta V.
To house this new control room, a small building expansion took place with extensive coordination around existing infrastructure, including natural gas, nitrogen, industrial water and storm sewer.
