The panel is designed to support structural steel beams at the perimeter, eliminating the need for exterior columns. The animal room suites comprised a total of 18 animal rooms with associated anterooms, procedure rooms, surgery, cagewash and office spaces. The precast finish was designed to match the existing cast-in-place retaining walls in texture and relief. These factors required precise coordination with the structural engineer and architect for the placement of beam pockets and openings.
CSM Group led a Design-Build 52,000-square-foot facility for non-biocontainment livestock on PK studies. The facility comprised four self-contained animal suites with large animal pens, a feed room, procedure room and associated support, and amenities spaces.
