CSM Group has been selected to serve as construction manager of Kalamazoo Regional Educational Service Agency’s (KRESA) new Career & Technical Education (CTE) center in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
The center, which was made possible by an anonymous $100 million donation in October 2021, will be constructed on a parcel of donated land located along the I-94 and Sprinkle Road corridor next to Wings Events Center.
"CSM Group is honored to be a part of this transformational project in Southwest Michigan,” said Todd McDonald, Principal at CSM Group. “This facility will provide innovative, hands-on training that will equip students to succeed in high-demand careers once they enter the workforce.”
Plans for a new center began with a public-private partnership between KRESA and Southwest Michigan First and in 2019, Kalamazoo County voters approved a millage campaign to fund the new CTE program for K-12 students.
First started in 1985, KRESA’s programs provide high school students with job training and technical knowledge for careers in skilled trades after graduation. Programs include training in business management, marketing, engineering, manufacturing, and health sciences.
Construction will begin this spring and the school is set to be completed by the fall of 2024.
