CSM Group is excited to welcome the following individuals to our team: Andres Delsol, Vice President of Project Controls; Ted Bergin, Safety Specialist; Charles Lewis, Project Manager; and Connery Otto, VDC Intern.
Andres Delsol - Vice President of Project Controls
Delsol has more than 22 years of experience in the construction industry. As a project controls manager and PMO project manager, he has developed, implemented, and maintained processes and procedures for cost estimating, cost controls, planning, scheduling, risk, change management, and contract management aligned with clients' needs and expectations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery.
His diverse background demonstrates progressive construction management, project controls, and environmental consultancy experience in commercial and industrial sectors such as oil and gas, high-tech manufacturing, pharma, infrastructure, commercial buildings, and environmental and power. He has worked and delivered projects across the U.S. and Latin America, including Venezuela, Brazil, Chile, Peru, and Uruguay.
As Vice President of Project Controls, Delsol is responsible for overseeing data gathering, management, and analytical processes used to report, predict, understand, and influence the time and cost outcomes of CSM Group's global project portfolio.
Ted Bergin - Safety Specialist
Bergin comes to CSM Group with almost 20 years of experience in project and safety management roles. For the past 10 years, he served as a safety director for a Grand Rapids-based construction company and was responsible for providing training for more than 100 employees, developing and implementing systems for safety accountability, championing the organization's safety culture, and managing all safety documentation and recordkeeping.
As a safety specialist, he works closely with senior project managers, project managers, construction managers, and project engineers to ensure safety compliance and the coordination of safety programs. He also performs job site safety audits to ensure all safety rules and regulations are being followed, and is responsible for required reporting and recordkeeping, along with scheduling educational safety conferences and workshops to ensure CSM Group is up-to-date on new safety methods and procedures.
Charles Lewis - Project Manager
As an experienced project manager with more than 20 years of experience in the construction industry, Lewis is a great asset to our team. Since 2014, he has owned and operated his own construction company in Grand Rapids and constructed many single-family and multi-family units. He also holds a Michigan builder's license and is fluent in Spanish.
As a project manager, he provides leadership, direction, and oversight on projects during all phases of construction. He is also responsible for coordinating the construction efforts, predicting and resolving conflicts before they impact the project, and delivering timely and cost-effective solutions for our clients.
Connery Otto - VDC Intern
Otto is currently pursuing a master's degree in construction management from Michigan State University (MSU) and is conducting his thesis on the link between design-build and lean construction. For the past year, he has been a graduate assistant in the Department of Construction Management at MSU and mentored students in coordination with an undergraduate project controls course.
As a VDC Intern, Otto supports the implementation of technology across CSM Group's job sites and pre-construction department. He also creates and develops model-based content for general needs to support overall building construction project delivery and project pursuits (concept modeling, mock-ups, renderings, etc.). He also assists with project-level execution of laser scanning, processing, and deliverables.
