As the Chairman of CSM Group, Steve’s primary responsibility is to create, serve, and protect CSM Group’s mission, vision, and purpose.
His perspective of this line of work was built early in life as his father, Walt East, was a carpenter and he spent innumerable hours with him as his protégé. As a result, he gained a deep love and knowledge of the business.
Steve eventually would go on to work in other construction organizations but found himself stifled and frustrated by the lack of creativity and innovation in an industry that had so much potential.
With his love for the industry in place and his innovative outlook on the potential of the industry, Steve started CSM Group and has been working with clients on a national scale for over 40 years.
Outside of CSM Group, Steve enjoys meeting and talking to others as a way of gathering information on how they operate to continuously grow as a Chairman and mentor to others. Steve also enjoys reading and playing games that involve strategic moves and loves contemplating the ‘unsolvable’ and constructing new techniques.
